Why Families in Colorado Springs Are Training Together

April 03, 20261 min read

“Training together as a family is one of the most special things we see in our dojo.”

- Miguel Serrano

In today’s world, families are busy.

Schedules don’t line up.
Time together feels rushed.
And too often, everyone is on a different screen.

But something powerful happens when families train together.

Shared Experience Changes Everything

Martial arts creates something rare:

A shared challenge.

Parents and kids:

  • Learn together

  • Grow together

  • Support each other

That creates a bond that’s hard to replicate anywhere else.

Kids See You Lead

When your child sees you training…

They don’t just hear your words—they see your actions.

You’re modeling:

  • Discipline

  • Effort

  • Consistency

And that’s powerful.

Accountability Goes Both Ways

Families who train together:

  • Show up more consistently

  • Stay motivated

  • Encourage each other

It becomes a team effort.

Final Thought

Time together matters.

But meaningful time together?

That’s what creates lasting connection.

Let me know if you'd like to get your family started.
